Chào Mừng!
That is how we say ‘welcome’ in Vietnamese. My Mom and I welcome you to mỹ linh, a taste of vietnam website.
Life is often unpredictable. Who in our family could have known that a bitterly fought war in Southeast Asia, a war that caused so much controversy and debate in the United States, would set in motion a chain of events that would propel my family to flee our homeland in Vietnam? We were among the refugees who became known as “the boat people”. Our death defying journey from Vietnam, in search of the freedom to live our lives as we chose and not as the Communist dictators would dictate, brought us, like many refugees before, to America, the fabled land of golden opportunity.
mỹ linh restaurant is the embodiment of our dreams and the springboard of dreams yet to be realized. We are a family focused enterprise weaving threads of our Vietnamese culture into the fabric of Albany, New York, our new found home.
Opened in 1993, mỹ linh restaurant introduced Capital Region diners to the subtlety of Vietnamese cuisine. The freshest seafood, poultry, meats, and vegetables are accented with our signature sauces that define our culinary genre. You will find our 'taste of Vietnam' a savory and distinctive alternative to the Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Thai foods with which you are already familiar.
Recently, we launched a line of gourmet food which we call mỹ linh, a taste of vietnam. Initially we have bottled five sauces based upon Mom’s family recipes (click on tab for sauces), as used in mỹ linh restaurant. Other Vietnamese food and products are in the pipeline.
We invite you to experience our expression of old Indo-China with a contemporary twist.
We appreciate your interest and support. Cám ơn, that’s Vietnamese for thank you. |
